■ First Watch has opened a restaurant at 1080 South Broadway Road in the Simpson Center near the University of Kentucky. It marks the company's second Lexington location. First Watch features traditional favorites including pancakes, omelets, salads and sandwiches, as well as signature specialties. ■ This fall, Trane will celebrate 50 years in Lexington. The company broke ground at its Mercer Road plant in 1963. Since that time, it has become the world's largest air handling manufacturing facility and one of the biggest employers in Fayette County, with 900 employees.
The air handlers manufactured by Trane in Lexington can be found in Cincinnati's Great American Ballpark, Paul Brown Stadium, the Ronald Reagan Library, Churchill Downs, the Smithsonian, and the Washington Monument, among other historic sites.
