The American Heart Association is looking for companies in Central Kentucky for recognition as Fit-Friendly Worksites. Employers that go above and beyond to invest in the health of their employees are encouraged to apply for the recognition by April 1. Fit-Friendly Worksites are recognized for carrying out wellness activities such as a company walking program and routes, gym access, or making sure healthy foods and beverages are in company meetings and vending machines. The Louisville and Bluegrass Chapters of the Association of Fundraising Professionals will present Philanthropy in the Commonwealth: A Force for Good from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 15 at The Parklands of Floyds Fork in Louisville. The conference is designed for fund raising professionals, grant writers, nonprofit executives and board members. It will feature sessions on donor-centered gift planning, annual fund operations, and career development for advancement professionals. Registration options are available for the full-day conference or for breakfast or lunch keynote sessions only. All sessions will be held at The Parklands in the Gheens Foundation Lodge, 1421 Beckley Creek Parkway, and the PNC Achievement Center, 1411 Beckley Creek Parkway.
