Altar'd State, a clothing boutique known for its charitable giving, will open a new store in Fayette Mall.
The mall announced Friday that the store — which carries lines such as Toms shoes, FashionAble scarves and Feed bags and accessories — will be open in time for holiday shopping.
The Knoxville-based Altar'd State company has 20 stores, mostly in the Southeast. The chain also has a store in Lexington's Hamburg district, at 2304 Sir Barton Way.
The Fayette Mall store will be in the new middle wing redevelopment area of the mall.
Through Altar'd State's Mission Mondays, the company says it donates 10 percent of net proceeds to various local charities. Altar'd State also gives back through an in-house clothing line in which a portion of every purchase goes to feed, clothe, educate and shelter children in need.
On Altardstate.com, the company describes its vision as "a modernized Christian shopping experience." Its first store opened in 2009 as a Christian retail store and coffee shop in Knoxville.
Fayette Mall announced in March that The Cheesecake Factory, the hugely popular restaurant chain, would locate a restaurant there. Other new tenants will include the Swedish "fast fashion" retailer H&M, Newk's Eatery and apparel retailers Clarks Shoes and Jos. A. Bank Clothiers.
A Michael Kors store and a Brighton Collectibles store are also scheduled to open soon.
