■ Pinkerton, the global risk management agency, has opened its first office in Kentucky, located at 1951 Bishop Lane, Louisville, near Churchill Downs. The branch, which is one of 33 locations in the United States, specializes in corporate investigations, risk analysis and security consulting. Jeremy Bates, director of operations, will oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of the branch.
Bates, who joined Pinkerton in May 2014, has more than 20 years of military, law enforcement and investigative experience. He is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, and currently serves as the Secretary of the Louisville Chapter of ASIS International, an international organization of security professionals.
