■ The American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine has asked Dr. Todd Coté, chief medical officer for Hospice of the Bluegrass, to serve as co-editor for the Hospice Medical Director Manual (3rd Edition). Coté co-edited the second edition two years ago and also wrote two chapters in the book. The manual is the definitive textbook for hospice medical directors throughout the country.
■ Buddy Schneider, vice president and commercial loan officer at Traditional Bank, has been selected by the Kentucky Bankers Association for its 2015 Emerging Leaders Program, designed to develop the next generation of bank leaders in Kentucky through legislative education, leadership development, community outreach, and other skills needed to become an effective leader in the industry.
Schneider, a Lexington native, attended Lexington Catholic High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., in 2002 and an MBA from the University of Kentucky in 2003. He began working for Traditional Bank in 2006.
■ Columbia Gas of Kentucky and its fellow NiSource Inc. companies have been designated one of the World's Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute for the fourth consecutive year. The designation recognizes organizations that have had a material effect on the way business is conducted by fostering a culture of ethics and transparency at every level of the company.
