■ Fazoli's has been presented with a Silver Stevie Award in the Human Resources Department of the Year category at the 13th Annual American Business Awards. This is the second time in recent years that Fazoli's has been a finalist in this category. It won a Gold Stevie — the top award — in 2012.
■ Mason & Hanger, the nation's oldest engineering and construction firm, founded in 1827, has received a national Engineering Excellence Honor Award from the American Council of Engineering Cos. This award honors the latest Mason & Hanger-designed 490-acre Asymmetric Warfare Training Center in Ft. A.P. Hill, Va. M&H worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, to provide a state-of-the-art facility. The project consisted of 41 buildings with a network of roadways, train tracks, sidewalks, tunnels and parking lots.
