Lexington Clinic is restructuring, a spokesman said Friday, and an undetermined number of jobs are being eliminated.
Laci Poulter, the clinic’s director of marketing, said some reception positions were being eliminated. Poulter could not say how many jobs were being eliminated, or in what other categories.
“We are in a great financial position,” Poulter said.
There are 58 jobs open at Lexington Clinic currently, she said, and the clinic just hired eight new physicians. The Lexington Clinic website lists open jobs including certified medical assistants, medical receptionists, physician assistants and respiratory therapists.
“We’re not on a hiring freeze,” Poulter said. “We’re committed to providing the best patient care possible.”
Lexington Clinic employs about 1,200 people across Lexington and surrounding counties, treating about 600,000 patients annually.
