Louisville-based Brown-Forman's Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey announced Wednesday that the company would test a new red-hot cinnamon-flavored spirit in three states beginning in April.
Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire, made with Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 whiskey and infused with "a proprietary red-hot cinnamon liqueur," will be available in Oregon, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. It will be 70 proof and priced about the same as Tennessee Honey, the company's popular flavored whiskey. Jack Daniel's also brought out a seasonal Winter Jack last fall.
There was word on when Tennessee Fire might launch to a broader market.
"The flavored-whiskey category continues to grow, and we think the time is right to offer our Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 whiskey with the heat and spice of our own red hot cinnamon liqueur," John Hayes, senior vice president and managing director of Jack Daniel's, said in a statement. "We're always listening to our friends and look forward to this test launch to let them try it, make sure it meets their expectations and then we'll go from there. But we think they're really going to like it."
