Spilled cooking grease caused a traffic hazard at a major intersection in Danville early Thursday, police said.
The grease had spilled from a truck that was located behind a restaurant at a shopping center near the corner of Perryville Road and the U.S. 127 Bypass, said Danville Assistant Police Chief Tony Gray.
The spill was discovered at about 2 a.m. Thursday. The amount of the was not large, but the spill was big enough to potentially cause a vehicle to slide through the intersection as it attempted to stop, Gray said.
The truck driver was making rounds picking up cooking grease from restaurants, he said.

Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement was called to the scene, and Gray said he anticipated that the truck driver would be cited.
Danville firefighters were called to the scene to remove the grease from the roadway.
