Lexington residents will get a chance to shape up in September while enjoying Cheapside Park.
The 2011 Cheapside Fitness Series will offer free classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in September in the Fifth-Third Pavilion. The series, sponsored by the city and bodyFITworldwide, starts Sept. 6. The schedule will be:
■ Core classes at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, taught by Jonathan Messick of bodyFITworldwide. The classes promise to invigorate your body by getting the blood flowing and working your midsection. Take an exercise mat, towel and water.
■ Fitness lectures on nutrition and wellness of mind and body at noon on Wednesdays. Take your own lawn chair.
■ Yoga in the park, noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays. Participants can come and go as needed. Take a mat and water.
