The former owner of two Eastern Kentucky pain clinics has been charged with defrauding Medicaid, according to a news release from Attorney General Jack Conway's office.
A Lawrence County grand jury indicted Lee Adam Balaklaw on 20 counts of fraud.
Balaklaw, an anesthesiologist, allegedly submitted fraudulent bills to Medicaid claiming he had treated multiple patients with injections into the tendon, according to a news release.
The indictment said Balaklaw fraudulently billed Medicaid $90,000 between January 2007 and July 2010 for treating 29 patients, according to Conway's office.
Authorities have issued a warrant for Balaklaw's arrest.
