The pedestrian killed in a suspected hit-and-run accident on Leestown Road has been identified as Gary Akers, 57, of Lexington, according to the Fayette County coroner's office.
Akers' name was not released Saturday.
He was killed near Leestown Road at the intersection with Westhampton Drive.
He died of multiple blunt-force trauma, according to the coroner's office.

Police said previously that it wasn't clear how long Akers had been there. He was found by officers about 4:45 a.m. Saturday after a passerby called police.
