A Scott County High School teacher acknowledged to police that she'd had sexual contact with a 15-year-old student, according to arrest documents.
Elizabeth Alexander, 26, was arrested Tuesday, charged with sexual abuse and use of a minor younger than 16 in a sexual performance.
The alleged incidents, including some that took place in a classroom, occurred in April, according to a citation issued in the case by Georgetown police.
Alexander is listed as a social studies teacher on the Scott County High School website.
According to the police citation, Alexander admitted that she and a 15-year-old student kissed, that she allowed him to touch her and that she touched him in return.
In addition, she told police that she asked the student to send an intimate photograph of his body to her cellphone, the citation states.
Alexander was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Georgetown police headquarters. Police Capt. Robert Swanigan said her arrest followed an investigation that began Tuesday morning.
Swanigan said Wednesday morning that there is no indication so far that any other students were involved, but that the investigation is continuing.
"At this point, nothing that we have uncovered in our investigation leads us to believe that any other student was involved," Swanigan said.
Alexander's next court appearance is May 27. She has been released from jail on bond.
