A federal grand jury has accused a California man of getting a 14-year-old Berea girl to send him sexually explicit photos of herself.
Luis Antonio Caballero is charged with one count of using, persuading or coercing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction, according to an indictment returned last week.
The girl told authorities she met Caballero randomly on Facebook after he sent her a message, according to a sworn statement from Kimberly Kidd, an FBI agent investigating the case.
The girl said she had communicated with Caballero, a registered sex offender, for months through Facebook and text messages, and by telephone.

Caballero told the girl to send him explicit photos of herself, and he sent the girl nude photos of himself, according to Kidd's statement.
Caballero was abusive to the girl, calling her names and threatening to tell her guardian about their contacts. He also admitted threatening to post nude photos of her on the Internet, Kidd said.
Police began investigating after the girl's guardian contacted them in November.
Authorities found several hundred text messages and several hundred more calls between the girl's phone number and Caballero's number during six weeks in October and November, according to the affidavit.
Cabellero sent money to a friend of the girl to give to her for her phone bill, according to Kidd.
Caballero had to register as a sex offender because of an earlier case involving sexual acts with an 11-year-old girl. He was sentenced in 2007 to six years in prison.
He was arrested in May for violating his parole, so he was in custody before he was indicted in Kentucky.
He told an FBI agent in California that the Berea girl had sent him about 20 nude photos of herself.
"Caballero said he expected to spend the rest of his life in prison for what he had done," according to Kidd's statement.
The charge in Kentucky carries a prison sentence of at least 15 years for a first offense and 25 years for a second offense.
