State authorities charged that a Paducah woman has been practicing law without a license.
Patricia King, 47, was charged Monday. She is due to appear in McCracken Circuit Court on Aug. 14, the Kentucky Attorney General's office said.
An investigation began after Attorney General Jack Conway's criminal investigations unit received word from the McCracken county attorney's office that King allegedly was practicing law while unlicensed.
King was then charged.
Practicing law without a license is a class B misdemeanor, punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a $250 fine, according to the attorney general's office.
