Lexington police are investigating a shooting that wounded one man early Wednesday morning.
Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said officers responded to a call at 1:30 a.m. at Maple Avenue and Seventh Street. They found a 31-year-old man who told them that he had been shot in the left forearm while walking.
"He said he didn't know where the shot came from, nor did he know why anyone would shoot him," Roberts said. "Other than that, he wasn't too cooperative in helping us to uncover the events surrounding his situation. ... This whole thing is a little bit unclear. That's a diplomatic way to put it."
Officers were in the area at the time and "didn't hear a thing," Roberts said.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital for treatment.
