Kentucky State Police have identified the two officers involved in the fatal shooting of a robbery suspect last month in Northern Kentucky.
Kenton County Sheriff's Deputy Miguel Rodriguez and Ludlow Police Lt. Bart Beck are the officers involved, according to a news release from the Dry Ridge state police post.
Allen Berly Todd Jr., 27, was pronounced dead after the shooting, which occurred about 10:30 a.m. Dec. 22 in a field at Independence in Kenton County.
Police have said that Todd was a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred several hours earlier at the Magnuson Hotel in Florence.
Officers were trying to arrest Todd, who was armed, when shots were fired just off Cody Road at Independence, according to state police.
The shooting followed a chase that began when a Florence police officer spotted a car matching the description of a vehicle seen leaving the hotel robbery, police said. The pursuit continued along Interstate 75, and officers later confronted Todd in the field after he left the car and ran, police said.
Kentucky State Police say they're continuing an investigation into the shooting.
