A man was shot in the back while attending a function at a martial arts gym on Floyd Drive early Sunday.
The shooting happened just after 2 a.m. at Four Seasons Martial Arts at 951 Floyd Drive.
Lexington police Lt. Jesse Harris said "a party or event" was going on at the facility. The victim told police he was on the dance floor when he heard gunfire and felt the shot.
The man, who was not identified by police, was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with an injury that was not thought to be life-threatening, Harris said.
Harris said police did not have any suspects.
As the crowd fled the gym after the shooting, witnesses told police they saw people in a maroon Ford Explorer firing shots into the air and toward other vehicles.
Harris said one vehicle was hit but no one was injured.
