A man fell to his death in the Red River Gorge early Saturday.
Wolfe County Deputy Coroner Gary Sparks said the man had been hiking with friends when he stepped over the railing, slipped and fell about 200 feet at Chimney Top Rock.
Sparks said he was withholding the man's name Saturday because his family had asked that they be given time to notify some other family members.
He was from the Cincinnati area, Sparks said.
Never miss a local story.
Sparks said the man's fall was reported just after midnight, and it took about five hours for rescue squad workers from three counties to recover the body.
