Several streets and roads in Lexington were closed Friday morning by high water.
As of 9:30 a.m., Lexington police said these routes were affected:
■ Old Harrodsburg Road is closed between Bowman Mill Road and Military Pike.
■ Alexandria Drive is closed between Trailwood and Old Frankfort Pike.
■ High water continues to limit traffic flow on North Broadway at the RJ Corman railroad overpass near Broadview Drive. The right inbound and outbound lanes are being affected, as are both bicycle lanes. The inside lanes remain passable, police said.
Also, Old Versailles Road, across Versailles Road (U.S. 60) from South Elkhorn Baptist Church, remained under water at 10:30 a.m.
Rains in Lexington have slacked off, but low-lying areas on many roads and streets remained covered by water, police said. Some of the problems are caused by clogged storm-sewer drains.
More rain is forecast for later Friday, and Lexington motorists should continue to use caution, police said.
The Valley View Ferry remains closed until further notice because of the flooding, officials said.
