A Perry County man remained hospitalized after being shot in the face Tuesday night, and Kentucky State Police are looking for the alleged shooter.
Robert Earl Miller of the Ary community was taken to Pikeville Medical Center for treatment, state police said Wednesday.
State police obtained an arrest warrant charging James D. Brewer, 61, of Ary, with first-degree assault. Brewer is described as a white male, about 5 foot 9 and 150 pounds. He has blue eyes and gray hair, and he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Troopers with the Hazard post were sent to a home on Coates Branch Road in Ary after reports of a shooting.
Officers found Miller lying on the ground with a single gunshot wound to the face. Investigators learned that he had been in an altercation with Brewer, who had fled before officers arrived.
Anyone with information about the location of James Brewer should contact the Hazard post at (606) 435-6069. Detective Joel Abner is investigating.
