The Kentucky Foxfire Festival celebrating Kentucky's time-honored traditions will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10:a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Servant Heart Farm in Wilmore. The festival will feature United Trappers of Kentucky, Blade Smith demos, knife forging, a U.S. horse plowing competition, instrument making, crafts, pottery, free-range food, photography, taxidermy, game calling and yellow knife flutes. Musical guests include: The Moron Brothers, Dean Osborne, Scott Fields and Kentucky Blend, Custom Made Bluegrass, Good Ground, Uptown Blue, 27 South, Blackberry Jam and the Kentucky School of Bluegrass and Traditional Music Ensemble. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate. Free admission for children 12 and under. Camping is available. Servant Heart Farm is located at 9517 Harrodsburg Road in Wilmore. Wine and wolves fundraiser
First Vineyard Winery is hosting a fundraiser for Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Hybrid wolf cubs will be on hand for photographs. There will be food and a silent auction. There is no admission fee, but donations will be accepted at the door. Wolf Run's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release animals in need.
