Registration for the Jack Jouett Archaeology Project team is ongoing. Volunteer opportunities include excavation, artifact processing, database entry, event hosting and support, research, document transcription, exhibit creation and outreach.
The application packet can be accessed at Jouetthouse.org; click on Learn/Archaeology/Distillery Project. There is no admission charge for any of the project activities. Upcoming opportunities include an artifact processing lab from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the visitor center at the Jack Jouett House Historic Site, 255 Craig's Creek Road, Versailles.

Alzheimer's program Oct. 12 at library
"Living with Alzheimer's: For Caregivers — Early Stage" will help participants understand the common symptoms and behaviors seen in early stage Alzheimer's and how to address them. Additionally, caregivers will learn about what lies ahead legally and financially, the importance of early planning, and how to build an effective care team.
This program, presented by the Woodford County Public Library and the Alzheimer's Association, will take place Oct. 12 at the Woodford County Library, 115 North Main Street, Versailles. To register, call the Alzheimer's Association 24/7 Helpline at 1-800-272-3900. This program was created especially for family caregivers, so please, no professionals.
