At 1 p.m. Dec. 13, at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, an Abraham Lincoln look-alike will draw the name of the winner of a gift basket for the December Kentucky Lincoln Heritage Trail Passport Program drawing. The program was introduced in the summer of 2008 as an incentive to travelers following the trail and visiting Lincoln sites throughout central Kentucky.
Travelers can obtain a Lincoln Heritage Trail map at any of the Lincoln sites, receiving a stamp on their map once a location is visited. With the accumulation of 10 sites and stamps, travelers can present their passports at any site to register for a chance to enter the free monthly prize drawing. Some of the trail sites are: the Mary Todd Lincoln House in Lexington; Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site, Lincoln Boyhood Home and Lincoln Museum in Hodgenville; Camp Nelson Civil War Heritage Park and National Cemetery in Jessamine County. For a complete list of sites, visit www.kylincolntrail.com.
Never miss a local story.
All registrants will be eligible for the grand-prize drawing to be held on Feb. 12. The grand prize will include a stay at one of the Kentucky State Resort Parks, a state parks golf package and tickets to the Kentucky Horse Park.
