Army Reserve Sgt. Michael J. Tarnofsky, son of Carol S. Codell of Lexington, was one of more than 700 members supporting the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee, a joint-service organization formed to coordinate all military participation and support for the 10-day period of inaugural events in Washington, D.C.
Tarnofsky, a truck driver with the 125th Transportation Co. in Lexington, worked as an escort during the inauguration parade.
He is a 2003 Henry Clay High School graduate and is currently working on a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky.
Army Pfc. Joel A. Carter has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Carol Carter of Lexington. The private is a 2001 graduate of East Jessamine High School in Nicholasville.
Army National Guard Pvt. Matthew O. Green has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Alan Green and stepson of Cindy Mead, both of Lexington. Green is a 2008 graduate of Lafayette High School.
Army Pvt. Aaron L. Condra has graduated from the Field Services Specialist Advanced Individual course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va. Condra is the son of Bridgette E. Moody of Georgetown. The private is a 2007 graduate of Scott County High School.
Air Force Airman Ashley L. Lowery has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Terry Lowery of Las Vegas and Sharon Cottrell of Lexington. She is a 2007 graduate of Las Vegas High School.
