My wife and I work in Louisville during the week. Our hectic corporate careers — I'm a software engineer with Humana and she's in human resources at Papa John's headquarters — revolve around tight deadlines, juggling multiple projects at the same time and dealing with customers.
After living and working in the "big city" of Louisville, we wanted to experience a slower-paced lifestyle in a small, family-friendly town. We found a quiet refuge in Versailles in December and we have fallen in love with its beautiful horse farms and friendly people.
We've discovered many hidden gems in this beautiful community — from places like Melissa's Cottage and Cleveland's restaurants, the state-of-the-art Falling Springs Recreational Center, and the charming Woodford County Library to people like our landlord, Paul, and our neighbors, David and Laura, who helped us out during the recent ice storm.
We share our adventures each week in our new blog, Discovering Versailles.
Never miss a local story.
