In conjunction with the Bluegrass Classic Stockdog Trials will be the Kentucky Sheep & Fiber Festival, a natural fiber and local food event. Held at the Fairgrounds at Masterson Station Park, festival-goers can see fiber artists, purchase handspun yarn and more.

Classes, workshops and demonstrations will be offered including spinning, knitting, weaving and rug hooking.
The sheep and Kentucky agriculture community will be showcased with lamb and other Kentucky Proud food products. Festivities will include workshops 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 14 and 15 (walk-ins welcome). Registration for Lexington Parks & Recreation swim lessons and swim teams will be offered online beginning at noon on Thursday. In-person registration will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Parks & Recreation Administration Office, 469 Parkway Drive. The cost is $25 per person for swim lessons and $35 per person for swim teams.
Six levels of instruction will be offered. An individual skills assessment will be performed on the first day of class to ensure appropriate class placement.
Class sessions will be: Session I, June 7—18; Session II, June 21-July 1; Session III, July 5-16; Session IV, July 19-30. A complete list of sessions and times is available at www.lexingtonky.gov/parks.
Water aerobics, diving lessons and recreational swim teams will be offered at select locations and basic diving (basic dives and proper diving techniques), will be available to any youth that can pass the Red Cross Level 3 class. Swim teams are open to ages 5 to 15; practice will begin on June 7 and will conclude with the championship meet in August.
A special class for parents or guardians and their infant or toddler is also available. The Parent & Me classes combine water safety, accident prevention, songs and games. The cost for all classes, with the exception of swim teams, is $25 per person. The cost to participate in swim teams is $35 per person.

Mayfest arts fair
The Mayfest Arts Fair will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Gratz Park. The festival will include local and national art and craft vendors, artist demonstrations and workshops, entertainment, food and activities for children and adults.
Alzheimer's caregiver training
Fayette County Alzheimer's Family Caregiver Training will be offered for those who have a friend or family member who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.
Experts in aging and Alzheimer's care will discuss Alzheimer's disease, caregiving basics, legal decisions, and how to care for the caregiver.
The program will be 9:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 11 at the Fayette County Extension Office. The fee is $10 and includes lunch. Registration is required, call 1-800-272-3900.
