Historic Paris-Bourbon County will hold a special event in celebration of historic preservation month at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the second-floor courtroom of the Bourbon County Courthouse.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the state Capitol in Frankfort. Unknown to many, the Bourbon County Courthouse plan was the runner-up design. In acknowledgement of that status, the Capitol Centennial Commission has selected Paris as one site in a series of statewide events, this one to recognize the Bourbon County Courthouse. Gov. Steve Beshear and first lady Jane Beshear will be special guests. The public is invited to attend.
