■ Army Col. Timothy D. Chyma assumed charter responsibilities as program executive officer of Special Operations Forces Support Activity at Bluegrass Station. His responsibilities include providing dedicated, responsive and cost-effective contractor support to Special Operations Forces worldwide. Chyma, a Special Forces officer, has served in the military for 23 years.
■ Air Force Airman Chelsey M. Poindexter graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Caroline Smith of Lexington and is a 2010 graduate of Henry Clay High School.
■ Army Reserve Sgt. Maj. Janet M. Jones is in the process of returning home with the 372nd Engineer Brigade based at Fort Snelling, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn., after serving a one-year deployment in Afghanistan.
Jones, a public affairs chief and historian, has served in the military for 33 years.
She is the sister of Nancy C. Jones of Midway.
