Sonya Hodge won a digital camera from Murphy's Camera in The Herald-Leader Horse Mania photo contest with a picture of three of her four daughters and The Siren of the Bluegrass at Lexington Center on Vine Street.
With the new camera, the older girls, from left, Mary Mabel, 3, Lilly, 4, and Bella, 7, can pose for lots of photos alongside newborn sister Estella for a planned scrapbook or family photo album.
We invited readers to take pictures of themselves or family members with Horse Mania 2010 horses and upload them for a chance to win a prize. Voters chose from 10 finalists whom we designated from nearly 300 entries. You can see them all at Kentucky.com/yourhorses.
Horse Mania, which will remain on display through October, generated lots of enthusiasm.
Never miss a local story.
"The Kentucky bred and horse-loving Hodge sisters have been so excited each and every time we pass a horse, and so Hodge Horse Mania ensued," Sonya Hodge said via e-mail. "Many fun-filled days (and nights) were spent traveling around Lexington in search of each horse! We later learned of the contest and wanted to participate and share some of the fun we had exploring Lexington and traveling to visit the horses."
It's not too late to share your Horse Mania pictures at Kentucky.com/yourhorses or upload other photos that you think other readers will enjoy at Videos.kentucky.com/upload.
