The Jessamine County Trails Association is celebrating Earth Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Riney-B Park in Nicholasville. Events include a 5K cross-country race, an Easter egg hunt, pony rides, a petting zoo, an 18th-century encampment and interpretive trail hikes. There also will be food and live music.
Vineyard bash to benefit humane society
The first Waggin' Tails BBQ Bash will be 6 to 9 p.m. April 30 at Chrisman Mill Vineyards & Winery, Nicholasville. Proceeds will benefit The Jessamine County S.A.V.E. Center, a humane society for homeless animals.
The evening will include a dinner and dessert bar, wine tasting, puppy pageant, live music, silent auction and door prizes.

Tickets are $29 before the event and $34 at the door. Children 12 and under are $19 in advance and $24 at the door.
