Two Central Kentucky teens were awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor given by Boy Scouts of America:
Patrick Bryce Harney, 18, of Paris is a member of Troop No. 196, sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For his Eagle Scout project, Harney coordinated a blood drive with the Kentucky Blood Center. The son of Patrick and Julie Harney is a graduate of Paris High School and plans to attend Morehead State University this fall.
Daniel Hayes, 17, of Lexington is a member of Troop No. 1789, sponsored by First United Methodist Church. For his project, the junior at Lexington Catholic High School constructed modular wall units at the Aviation Museum of Kentucky using donated surplus materials. They can be adapted to the museum's changing exhibits. He is the son of Peggy and Michael Hayes.
