Trevor Faw, 14, has been awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor given by the Boy Scouts of America.
He is a member of Troop 361 in Stanton and is a sophomore at Powell County High School. He is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, one of Scouting's National Honor Societies. He is the son of Cliff and Missy Faw.
For his Eagle Scout project, Trevor and his scouts renovated the Sgt. 1st Class John Morton Memorial Picnic Area within Stanton City Park. They built three heavy-duty, octagon-shaped picnic tables, landscaped and created a new sign.
Stanton Mayor Dale Allen held a ceremony July 28 at the Stanton City Park where he rededicated the Sgt. 1st Class John Morton Memorial Picnic Area to the memory of Morton, who was killed in Afghanistan, and honored Trevor for achieving the Eagle Scout rank.

State Rep. Richard Henderson, D-Mount Sterling, also attended and named Trevor a Kentucky Colonel, which is the highest honor awarded by the commonwealth.
He was also presented with an Outstanding Young Citizen Certificate.
