Eli John Jupiter Jackson, age 17 at the time of his project, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor given by the Boy Scouts of America.
He is a member of Troop 41 in Lexington and was a senior at Henry Clay High School when he earned the honor.
He is the son of Crystal and Scott Jackson of Lexington.
For his Eagle Scout project, Eli led a group of Scouts and volunteers in performing landscaping and grounds improvement at Maple Grove Cemetery, a historic African-American facility in Georgetown.

Eli is now a freshman at the University of Montana, studying for a degree in nature-based tourism in the university's College of Forestry.
