■ Air Force Airman 1st Class Brett T. Vanlandingham has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.
Vanlandingham earned distinction as an honor graduate.
He is the son of Kellie Scott of Paris and Ronald Vanlandingham of Lexington.
He is a 2008 graduate of Bourbon County High School.
■ Army Reserve Pvt. Daniel R. Lewis has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla.
Lewis is the son Dale and Susan Lewis of Lexington and the grandson of Patricia Johnson of Taylorsville. He is a 2011 graduate of Lafayette High School.
■ Army National Guard Pvt. Jonathon P. Burton has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. He is the son of Tonya L. Burton of Richmond and is a 2011 graduate of Madison Central High School.
■ Army National Guard Pfc. Anthony B. Jones has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.
Jones is the son-in-law of George Earles of Lexington. He is a 2001 graduate of Henry Clay High School.
■ Army Pvt. Tommie K. Davenport has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.
Davenport is the brother of Timmy Davenport of Nicholasville. He is a 2011 graduate of Garrard County High School.
■ Army Staff Sgt. Matthew J. Holmes has returned to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., after being deployed to Iraq serving in support of Operation New Dawn, which ended Dec. 15.
Holmes, an ammunition supply sergeant attached to the 77th Sustainment Brigade, has served 16 years in the military.
The staff sergeant is a resident Georgetown.
On Jan. 4, Maj. Allen C. Laughlin II of the Marine Corps was promoted to lieutenant colonel in Dover, N.H. Laughlin is a 1985 graduate of Bryan Station High School and a 1991 graduate of the University of Kentucky.
Laughlin lives in Epping, N.H., with his wife, Patricia. He is the officer in charge of injury support, north east, and district injured support coordinator for northern New England. He is the son of Sandra and Allen Laughlin, and the late Brenda Sue Laughlin of Lexington.
