■ Andrew M. Forbes, CTRSN, has graduated from U.S. Navy boot camp at Great Lakes, Ill.
During his eight weeks of training, he learned seamanship, water survival, extensive shipboard damage control, fire fighting and anti-terrorism.
Andrew was named an honor graduate with a rank of E-3 and his company was inducted into the hall of fame because of team excellence in all areas of training.
He is now attending Cryptology Intelligence School in Pensacola, Fla.
Andrew is a graduate of West Jessamine High School and Bluegrass Community and Technical College.
His parents, June and Andrew Forbes, live in Nicholasville. June is a retired U.S. Navy Chief. His sister, Brittnay, is a senior at the University of Kentucky.
■ Army Pvt. Michael B. Browning has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Browning is the son of Arlene Bennett of Stanford and Randy Browning of Richmond.
He is a 2004 graduate of Fort Logan High School in Stanford.
