Forty-seven Jessamine County Fiscal Court employees recently received CPR certification through a class offered by Jessamine County Emergency Medical Services.
During the four-hour class, courthouse employees learned how to approach a patient, how to recognize if there is a problem, how to use an automated external defibrillator, and how to perform chest compressions.

Blood Drive at Wal-Mart

The Kentucky Blood Center will hold a mobile blood drive from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday at the Nicholasville Wal-Mart, 1024 North Main Street. Donors should be in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds, have a photo I.D. and be at least 17 years old. Sixteen-year-olds can donate with a signed parent permission slip. New hours at animal center
The Jessamine County Animal Care and Control Center has a new schedule that includes Saturday morning hours. The center, located at 120 Fairground Way in Nicholasville, will now be open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1-5 p.m. Saturday. 'White Christmas' at Wesley Village
The Wilmore Community Center at Wesley Village will have a special matinee showing of Irving Berlin's White Christmas at 1:15 p.m., Friday. The 1954 classic stars Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye as wartime buddies turned entertainers who fall for two sisters. Wesley Village is located at 1125 North Lexington Avenue in Wilmore.
