The following have earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor given by the Boy Scouts of America.
■ Joseph D. Johnson, 14, of Lexington, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on Sept. 18.
Joseph is a member of Troop 98, sponsored by Rosemont Baptist Church.
He is in the eighth grade at Jessie Clark Middle School and is the son of Ronda and James Johnson.

Joseph received the award when he was 13 years old. The Court of Honor was held Nov. 8. Joseph earned his God and Country, God and Family and Arrow Light in Cub Scouts. He is a Brotherhood member in the Order of the Arrow.
For his Eagle Scout leadership service project, Joseph cleared two lines of honeysuckle and brush and then burned the debris at Devotion Lodge No. 160 F & AM on Harrodsburg Road.
■ Ethan McCoy, 15, of Mount Sterling, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on Sept. 10.
Ethan, who has participated in scouting since the age of 6, is a member of Troop 53, sponsored by Edd Pittman. He is a sophomore at Montgomery County High School and is the son of Cheryl and Barry McCoy.
For his Eagle Scout leadership service project, Ethan and members of his troop constructed housing for wood ducks and placed the boxes along Slate Creek in Menifee and Montgomery counties, with a goal of helping to increase the wood duck population.
