The Jessamine County YMCA is sponsoring Run this Town, an all-new running group for 10- to-18-year-olds. The free training begins March 10 and ends with a 10K race in Danville on May 17. The group meets at Lake Mingo Park in Nicholasville from 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 8-10 a.m. Saturday. Participants have opportunity to earn free running shoes and dri-fit shirts. East Jessamine Middle celebrates history

The students of East Jessamine Middle School in Nicholasville are participating in the second annual I Love History Day Thursday. This event is leading up to the district competition at Eastern Kentucky University's History Day, March 22.
The event will be held in the school's media center from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. About 100 students from grades 6-8 will display their knowledge of historical events, people or inventions that fit this year's history competition's theme, "Rights and Responsibilities."
