Commonwealth Credit Union will hold a Community Shred Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at its Georgetown branch, 108 Lawson Drive. The event allows anyone to safely dispose of old and unneeded financial documents or personal records. Up to five boxes per person will be accepted. Business records will not be accepted.
Lawn care for military families
Kentucky Twist Creations & Services of Georgetown has joined National GreenCare for Troops program, a seven-year-old community-based program that provides lawn care services for military families with a spouse or family member currently deployed in the Armed Forces.
Interested military families can register for participation in the GreenCare for Troops program by calling (859) 333-9929 or by going to Kentuckytwist.com. Participation is limited.
