Civil War program at Jouett House
The Jack Jouett House Historic Site in Woodford County commemorated Matthew Harris Jouett Day on Aug. 10 with a Civil War Sesquicentennial Program. Jouett descendent Steve Menefee spoke on "Sons of the Civil War," and re-enactors portraying the 15th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry of the Union Army created a mini-campsite on the grounds so guests could learn about the everyday life of Civil War soldiers. Civil War artist Jim Hoffman also displayed his work. Pictured, from left, are Simon Pfanstiel, Greg Weigel, Dave Hoffman, Bill Pfanstiel and Steve Menefee.
