Equine Art Open Juried Exhibition begins Saturday
The American Academy of Equine Art Open Juried Exhibition will begin Saturday and run through Oct. 25 at The Scott County Arts and Cultural Center, 117 North Water Street, Georgetown. An artists' reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. The 2- and 3-D pieces show a number of horse breeds in various disciplines, including riding, driving, racing and chasing.
According to Academy Executive Director Frances Clay Conner, "This year there were hundreds of entries, some from as far away as New Zealand, all competing for about 65 gallery spaces. This year's exhibit quality is particularly outstanding, with a varied and interesting mix of styles and techniques."
