Art auction Saturday to benefit Woodford Chamber
An art auction to benefit the Woodford County Chamber of Commerce will be Saturday at Midway College's Ann Hart Raymond Building, 512 East Stephens Street. An art preview will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the auction at 7 p.m.
More than 200 works of art by nationally and internationally recognized artists will be auctioned, as well as three pieces donated by local artists, galleries and community members. Beginning bids will be below retail gallery prices.
One piece of art will be raffled the night of the auction. Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres, donated by Addie's at the Woodford Inn, Sweet Lilu's and Wildside Winery, will be served.

Native Tree Walk to be dedicated at Jouett House
The Jack Jouett House Historic Site will celebrate the completion of its Native Tree Walk at 2 p.m. Saturday in the visitor center. University of Kentucky professor and arboriculture specialist William Fountain will speak on "Kentucky Witness Trees," describing the Kentucky landscape during the settlement of the frontier. After a participatory dedication, Fountain will lead guests on an informative tour of the walk. Admission is free. This is a rain-or-shine event; only the walking tour will be curtailed in the event of threatening weather. The Jack Jouett House is located at 255 Craig's Creek Road, just outside Versailles. Alzheimer's program planned for Sept. 22
If you or someone you know is experiencing memory loss or behavioral changes, it's time to learn the facts. Early detection of Alzheimer's disease allows for a chance to begin drug therapy, enroll in clinical studies and plan for the future.
