■ The Military Officers Association of America will meet at noon March 19 at Equestrian Woods Country Club, 107 Clubhouse Drive, Nicholasville. Lexington's ambassadors for Honor Flight Bluegrass, Phill Pittman and George Campbell, will speak.
For the past decade the Honor Flight Network has flown thousands of America's veterans, mostly WWII survivors, to Washington, D.C., at no cost to the veterans. The Honor Flight Bluegrass Chapter, based in Louisville, has flown more than 1,700 Kentucky veterans since 2008.
The meeting is open to all military officers — active duty, reserve, and retired — and their guests. To attend, contact Pat Jones at (859) 271-2606 or by email at email@example.com. A buffet lunch will be available for $17.
Honor Flight Bluegrass has three flights scheduled for 2015: May 16 and June 6, both departing from Louisville, and Sept. 26, leaving from Lexington.
