EMS' Kids Safety Day features vehicles and fun activities
Jessamine County Emergency Medical Services will present Kids Safety Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lowe's Home Improvement parking lot, 1421 Keene Road, Nicholasville. Features include: ambulances, fire trucks, police cars, helicopter, dunking booth, bouncy house, face painting and door prizes.
R.J. Corman 5K benefits Chrysalis House
The R.J. Corman 5K Run/Walk to benefit Chrysalis House will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at R.J. Corman Railroad Group, 101 R.J. Corman Drive, Nicholasville. Race day registration is $25 and will begin at 7:30 a.m. Money will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers ($750, $250, $100), and there will be five random cash drawings of $200 each. Post-race food will be prepared by My Old Kentucky Dinner Train executive chef Jeff Sidebottom and will include burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, wraps, fruit and churned homemade ice cream. KET's Dave Shuffett to speak at senior center
Television personality Dave Shuffett will speak at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the Wilmore Senior Community Center at Wesley Village. Burgers and steaks cookout for a cause
The Jessamine County Beef Cattle Association will serve beef burgers and rib-eye steaks for the hungry public Friday and Saturday at the Tractor Supply parking lot in Nicholasville. The Association promotes beef and beef products. The cookout's proceeds support charitable organizations in Jessamine County as well as provide youth scholarships and training.
