■ Two students from Eastside Technical Center picked up honorable mentions from the Ohio Valley chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which gives out Student Production Awards each summer. Taylor Tomlin and Charles Greenlee competed in the short form/nonfiction category, and both served as writer, director and editor of their entries in the Great American No Bull Challenge.
■ Centre College has again received a top-50 ranking among national liberal arts colleges in Forbes' annual list of "America's Top Colleges."
According to the report, Centre ranked No. 4 of the South's liberal arts colleges and No. 11 in the South among all colleges and universities. This is the eighth year in a row that Forbes has named Centre a top-15 college or university in the South. Additionally, the college was ranked No. 89 overall among the nearly 3,500 public and private colleges and universities in the United States.
