First Vineyard Winery will host a wine-pairing seminar from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at 5800 Sugar Creek Pike in Nicholasville. Sommelier Kristen McClure will pair five First Vineyard wines for guests to taste, plus two additional wines. Participants will gain a better idea of which wines to serve with what types of food.
The pairing will be followed by a brief optional tour of the grounds by owner Tom Beall. In 1799, John James Dufour of Vevey, Switzerland, established the first commercial vineyard and winery in the United States on the property.
