Elizabeth Ruggles Pitchford has been appointed to the Woodford County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Pitchford, originally from Lexington, has worked more than 20 years with Ruggles Sign Co. in Versailles in sales, marketing, safety, event planning and Department of Transportation coordination.
Pitchford has served on the board of directors for the Lexington Advertising Club and Lexington Forum, chairman of the board for Woodford County Chamber, PTO president for Woodford Christian School, and board of directors for the PTO at Southside Elementary.
Matthew Harris Jouett Day: Jouett Family Treasures

The Jack Jouett House Historic Site will celebrate Matthew Harris Jouett Day with a special program, “Jouett Family Treasures,” at 2 p.m. Saturday in the visitor center.
Matthew Harris Jouett expert Steven Ray Menefee will give a brief presentation on the contributions of Jouett and introduce the new items. Guests will also see, for one day only, an original portrait of Jouett’s son George Payne Jouett, which has never been on display for public viewing.
