The Alzheimer’s Association will provide a legal and financial workshop from 1 to 2 p.m. Sept. 7 for families and individuals dealing with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Issues such as power of attorney, guardianship and handling the finances and property of a person with dementia will be discussed, as well as some assistance programs that may benefit attendees. Lexington attorney Mary Patton, from Bluegrass Elderlaw, will be the featured speaker.
The program will be held at the Woodford County Extension Office, 184 Beasley Road, Versailles. Registration is required; contact 1-800-272-3900.
Woodford Reserve and Woodford County host opening reception at Kentucky State Fair

As sponsor of the opening day reception at the Kentucky State Fair, Woodford Reserve teamed up with Woodford County to host an evening showcasing Woodford Reserve bourbon and the attractions and people of Woodford County.
The reception featured businesses, attractions, artists, wines, food, personalities and performers all unique to Woodford County.
Representatives from Woodford Reserve Distillery, including master distiller Chris Morris, were on hand, as well as State Rep. James Kay and a number of representatives from Versailles and Midway businesses and attractions.
