Registration has begun for the Kickin’ It with Kylee soccer tournament to be held July 9 at John Preece Park, 780 Richmond Avenue, Nicholasville. Proceeds for the 3v3 tournament will help pay medical expenses for Kylee Tyson, who until recently played for East Jessamine High School and Storm Select Girls. Kylee was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia and is undergoing chemotherapy. The tournament was conceived by Kaitlyn Maricle, another East Jessamine player, and sanctioned by the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association. Give blood, get free custard
The Kentucky Blood Center Bloodmobile will accept donations from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Nicholasville Culver’s, 961 North Main Street. Donors will receive a $10 Walmart gift card and a coupon for a free pint of custard. For more information, call 1-800-775-2522.
Beef Cattle Association cookout

The Jessamine County Beef Cattle Association will serve beef burgers and rib-eye steaks from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Tractor Supply parking lot in Nicholasville. In 2015, the association donated more than $17,000 to support charitable organizations in Jessamine County.

RJ Corman 5K Run
The annual RJ Corman 5K Run will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Wilmore United Methodist Church, 209 East Main Street, Wilmore. Registration forms, fees and a map of the course are available at Wilmore.org and Wilmore City Hall. Water will be available along the course, along with refreshments after the race. All pre-registrants will get a free T-shirt. A concurrent one-mile fun run begins at 7:30 a.m. Call Wilmore Parks & Recreation at 859-338-2208.
